Reviving Our Ancestral Knowledge.

Seek For What Lies Within

We live in an era of spiritual awakening. A vast majority of Ndi-Igbo both home and in the diaspora, are beginning to ask intentional questions concerning ancient traditional spirituality and origin.

Constantly I’m being asked, if we had such structured spirituality and institutions, how come we’ve lost so much of our identity, ancient science and technological advancements, high valued consecrated spirituality, art, archeology, chemistry and astrology to European colonizers.

Truth is, these knowledge was never lost, it lives within us as part of our heritage, until our consciousness is capable of accessing universal information made possible through the Chi as the source.

Their is an emerging consciousness within the African collective consciousness, hence the desire towards understanding and documentation of ancestral knowledge and information. As a result of this awakening, skills and crafts which were considered obsolete are now re-emerging with individual claims of being instructed or taught by the source.

This goes without saying, our ancestors never lost the battle of self preservation, but it was necessary as a means to usher in a new era. One which they foresaw and predicted, they predicted the emergence of two ” World Age” Uga Azi and Uga Anwu.

In Igbo cosmological philosophy Uga comes in four stages; Uga Aka(Consciousness), Uga Chi, Uga Anwu and Uga Azi.

The first Igbo age -Uga Aka, is an age of pure spirit and immortality existing in oneness and direct communication to Chukwu. The age which follows is known as Uga Chi, this age is characterized by duality, intuition, telepathy, and death. The third of these age is Uga Azi, the age of ignorance and destruction. Last is the age of enlightenment known as Uga Anwu, With this knowledge comes the power to check destructive tendencies and knowledge of self.

Our ancestors predicted a time of total spiritual death, ignorance and wickedness. A time when our ancestral knowledge would be lost. They also predicted that within this age, their would be those privy to ancient knowledge and this awoken consciousness would usher in Uga Anwu (Children of the sun).

This prediction when attributed to us as Ndi-Igbo, portrays the loss of identity and spiritual beliefs, it represents a time when we burned our deities and okpensi Chi, a time when iru-agwu was considered an antithesis to what it means. A time when knowledge was repressed as a way to make and keep us docile. A time when traditionalist were persecuted and our identity demonized out of ignorance and wickedness. A time when we aided the colonizers in the selling of our brothers and sisters, Uga Azi represents everything that has transpired between us and European colonizers.

While Uga Azi represents the ignorance of the Igbo man, Uga Anwu represent the conscious awakening within the Igbo scholarship. An awakening of both our minds, body, soul and consciousness.

The traditional man in his pursuit for knowledge has nature as his source, these are intricate levels at which our ancestors consciously reserved ancient information. To activate this source, is to be self aware by constant meditation, Chi acknowledgment, rituals and the understanding of proverbs(Ilu).

Through the provision of Agwu( The revealer), the Afa systems which its language encodes past, present and future, through mediums and Dibias, through forest and earth, through the usage of perishable organic energy as fuel for specific scientific process of Chi and Agwu installation, what was lost can always be restored
